  • Prepare the tooth: The tooth should be cleaned and prepared by removing any decay or damage. The surface of the tooth should be free of debris and moisture.
  • Apply the GIC: The GIC is mixed and applied to the prepared tooth, filling any cavities or defects. The GIC is then allowed to set for the recommended time.
  • Prepare the surface: Once the GIC is set, the surface of the tooth is cleaned and prepared for the application of the light cure resin coat. The surface should be dry and free of debris.
  • Apply the resin coat: The light cure resin coat is applied in thin layers over the surface of the GIC using a dental instrument. Each layer is cured with a special light before applying the next layer.
  • Cure the resin coat: After the final layer of resin is applied, the entire surface is cured with the light to ensure proper hardening and bonding to the GIC.
  • Polish the surface: Once the resin coat is cured, the surface of the tooth is polished to a smooth finish .
  • Post-treatment care: The patient should avoid eating or drinking for at least 30 minutes after the procedure to allow the resin coat to fully harden. The patient should also avoid hard or sticky foods for at least 24 hours after the procedure.
