• Preparation: Begin by preparing the tooth or restoration according to standard dental procedures. Ensure that the tooth surface is clean, free of debris, and appropriately shaped for the restoration.
• Isolation: Isolate the treatment area to maintain a dry and contamination-free environment. This typically involves using rubber dam isolation or other suitable techniques.
• Cavity/Restoration Etching: If using a total etch technique, apply a suitable dental etchant to the enamel and/or dentin surfaces to create microretentive areas for bonding. Follow the recommended etching time specified in the product instructions.
• Rinse and Dry: Rinse off the etchant thoroughly and gently air-dry the tooth or restoration. Ensure that the surface remains visibly moist but free of excess moisture.
• Apply Adhesive: Dispense the 3M ESPE RelyX Ultimate Adhesive Resin Cement as instructed by the product packaging. This often involves using an automix syringe and a designated mixing tip.
• Placement: Apply the adhesive resin cement to the prepared tooth or restoration, ensuring complete and even coverage. Follow the specific instructions for the type of restoration you are bonding (e.g., ceramic, composite, metal).
• Seat the Restoration: Carefully position the restoration onto the prepared tooth, ensuring proper fit and alignment. Apply gentle pressure to facilitate seating.
• Cure the Cement: If required, light-cure the adhesive resin cement according to the product's instructions. Ensure that the restoration receives adequate exposure to the curing light for complete polymerization.
• Excess Removal: After curing, remove any excess cement that may have seeped out from the restoration margins. This can be done using suitable dental instruments.
