Tor Vm Transparent Sectional Contoured Matrices adapts to the surface of the tooth to be restored, reproducing its anatomical contours, and replacing the missing wall or walls while the restoration is being performed, thus transforming a composite cavity into a simple cavity for easy restoration. It is used for Class II restorations. Anatomical shape helps produce properly contoured restorations.

It is made of transparent polyester, especially indicated for light-cured composite materials. The matrix is highly resistant and does not tear under tension.

Transparent contoured matrices are in four shapes of premolar matrices and four shapes of molar matrices.

Installing transparent contoured metal matrices with a ring can be done by following these general steps:

  • Select the appropriate size and contour of matrix band to match the tooth being restored.
  • Place the matrix band around the tooth, making sure it fits snugly against the tooth and reaches the bottom of the proximal box.
  • If necessary, use a wedge to help hold the matrix band in place.
  • Insert the transparent contoured matrix, making sure it sits flush against the tooth and extends slightly beyond the gingival margin.
  • Apply the restorative material, such as composite resin or amalgam, to fill the cavity.
  • Cure the restorative material according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Remove the matrix band, and finish and polish the restoration as needed.
