Ultradent Porcelain Silane is a highly effective mono-component solution designed specifically for dental applications. This product serves as a crucial step in the bonding process, enhancing the adhesion between resin materials and etched porcelain surfaces. Its primary function is to act as a coupling agent, ensuring a strong and durable bond between the porcelain and the bonding resin. The product's exceptional bonding properties make it suitable for a range of dental procedures, including repairing fractured dental porcelain.
The application of Ultradent Porcelain Silane is a straightforward process. Once the porcelain surface has been appropriately prepared and etched, the solution is applied using a Mini Brush tip. The Silane is gently brushed onto the etched porcelain surface for a specific duration to ensure thorough coverage and penetration. After application, the Silane is allowed to evaporate for a recommended time period. If needed, it can be air-dried with oil-free air.
Ultradent Porcelain Silane has been rigorously tested to ensure it delivers the highest bonding values when used in combination with a compatible bonding agent. For the best outcomes, it is recommended to follow the specified procedure, which involves gently brushing the Silane onto the etched porcelain for the recommended duration before proceeding with the bonding agent application.
Preparation:
Ensure that the porcelain restoration, whether it's a veneer, crown, bridge, inlay, onlay, or fractured dental porcelain, is thoroughly cleaned and free from any debris, contaminants, or residual agents.
Etching:
Dwell Time
Allow the Ultradent Porcelain Silane to remain on the etched surface for the recommended time, typically 60 seconds. This time ensures optimal chemical interaction and bonding enhancement.
Rinsing
After the appropriate dwell time has elapsed, thoroughly rinse the treated porcelain restoration with water. This step helps remove any excess silane from the surface and prepares it for resin cement application.
Drying
Use compressed air or another suitable drying method to completely dry the treated surface. Ensure that the porcelain restoration is completely moisture-free before proceeding to the resin cement application.
Resin Cement Application
The chemically compatible surface created by Ultradent Porcelain Silane will contribute to the strong bond between the porcelain restoration and the resin cement.
