Chlorhexidine Digluconate Solution for Root Canal Disinfection

MRP: ₹ 1200.00   ₹ 994.00

Discount: 17.17% off

R4 is a solution for the cleaning of root canals by irrigation. The presence of chlorhexidine digluconate ensures clean canals, because of its specific action on anaerobic strains in the root-canal flora and endo-periodontal lesions. It is characterized by disinfecting properties with a broad antimicrobial spectrum. It affects the anaerobic strains of bacteria constituting the bacterial flora of the root canals. It shows a long-lasting antibacterial effect and low toxicity. Efficiency equivalent to sodium hypochlorite, but duration of action greater than 48 hours, thanks to its remanent effect

INDICATIONS
Root-canal irrigation when endodontic re-treatment is required and/or when root-canal treatment requires several sessions.

Composition

  • Chlorhexidine digluconate (20 % solution) - 0.2 g
  • Denatured ethyl alcohol - 40.0 g
  • Excipients q.s.(acetic acid, purified water) - 100.0 g

STORAGE

  • Close the container tightly after each use.
  • Use within 6 months after opening.
  • Keep in a cool place (10 to 25°C).

  • 1 x 13ml Bottle

  • Begin by performing the chemical and mechanical preparation of the root canal as per standard procedures.
  • Flush the root canal with either sterile water or an EDTA solution to remove any debris or residual materials.
  • Use paper points to dry the canal thoroughly.
  • For the final irrigation, take the R4 solution in a disposable pipette, ensuring that the solution does not extrude beyond the apical foramen.
  • Carefully introduce the R4 solution into the root canal, avoiding excessive force or pressure. Do not flush the canal.
  • Remove any excess solution that could potentially interfere with the sealing process of the temporary crown restoration.
  • If necessary, place a cotton pellet in the access cavity and hermetically seal it with a temporary filling, ensuring complete coverage of the cotton pellet.
  • Each time you require more solutions, use a new pipette to prevent contamination.
  • At the next session, which can be scheduled between 24 hours to 30 days later, repeat the process by flushing the canal with sterile water or an EDTA solution.
  • Proceed with the chemical and mechanical preparation of the root canal and/or fill the cavity with a permanent filling, depending on the clinical situation and following routine procedures.
